ADAM Sandler hilariously took the blame as an Aaron Rodgers pass was intercepted during Monday Night Football.

The actor, 58, joined Peyton and Eli Manning for last night’s ManningCast.

Sandler joined the show remotely during the third quarter of the game between his beloved New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers .

All eyes were on Aaron Rodgers , as he played his first full NFL game since 2022 after recovering from a devastating Achilles injury.

Just moments after Sandler’s arrival on the broadcast, however, a Rodgers pass was intercepted.

Having been intended for Garrett Wilson, the pass failed to reach its target – being tipped and ultimately intercepted by Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles.

In typically self-deprecating fashion, Sandler took the blame for Rodgers’ error.

“See, maybe you should get rid of me,” he joked, as the Manning brothers chuckled. “I don’t wanna be here. I’m going.

“That was terrible… This was a mistake.”

The Jets were already losing heavily prior to Sandler’s arrival on the ManningCast.

And when Rodgers turned the ball over, they trailed 23-7.

The Jets went on to lose 32-19 – but their returning quarterback refused to blame rustiness from his injury layoff.

“That’s an excuse, for sure,” he said. “I’m not gonna use that. I don’t think we should.

“We expect greatness when we step on the field. There were moments for sure, moments that felt really good, but not sustained.”

After 11 gruelling months of rehab, Rodgers was quick to shout out those that have helped him get back.

“Yeah, it’s been a while, it felt great,” he said of being back in action.

“A lot of gratitude just to be back in pads. So many people helped me get to this spot.

“So I’m really thankful for my surgeon, my loved ones, my friends, the staff here, training staff to help me get back was really cool.

“Obviously, wanted to take a shot and feel the physicality of it.

“Once I threw a couple balls and took a shot, it felt good, felt like I was into the game.”

The Jets will return to action this Sunday, when they take on the Tennessee Titans away from home.

And it would seem unlikely that Sandler will be joining the broadcast for that one, at least if he is superstitious.
