Selena Gomez stuns in sequin dress at movie premiere in first outing since revealing she’s unable to carry a baby

SELENA Gomez was seen out with a smile on her face in a sequin dress despite revealing her sad health update.

On September 9, Selena , 32, wore a black sequin dress during the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

The festival took place at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Canada .

The dress reached down to her feet, covering up whatever shoes she had on.

Around the waist, the outfit puffed out.

Selena then displayed a bit of cleavage as the top of the dress was low cut and had thin straps across her chest.

The straps were covered by a big black flower.

The Only Murders in the Building star wore her brunette hair down and wavy.

She added silver hoop earrings and rings to her look, as well as shiny brown nail polish.

Selena’s makeup look consisted of a simple red lip and mascara.

Selena is starring in the upcoming Spanish -language French musical crime comedy film, Emilia Perez.

Aside from Selena, the movie also stars Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir, and Édgar Ramírez.

Emilia Perez is about a disgruntled lawyer named Rita (Zoe), who is tasked with assisting an escaped Mexican cartel leader in undergoing sex reassignment surgery to both evade the authorities and affirm her gender.

Selena plays Jessi Del Monte, Emilia (Karla)’s wife, and mother of their two kids.

Emilia Perez was released in France in August and will have a limited theater run in the United States in November.

In November 2023, rumors began swirling about a potential romance between Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.

On December 7 of that year, the Only Murders in the Building actress confirmed she and Benny were together.

Benny has recently said he is “in love” with Selena in an interview with WSJ. Magazine .

He said: “I was the last one to know.

“It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice, and then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, ‘Wait, I’m in love.’”

SELENA’S STRUGGLE

Selena was all smiles on the red carpet despite revealing a sad health update on the same day.

The singer revealed that she is unable to have children in an interview with Vanity Fair .

“I haven’t ever said this but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children,” Selena said in the interview.

She said that she has a lot of medical issues that would put her and the baby’s life in danger.

“That was something I had to grieve for a while,” Selena admitted to the outlet.

The actress said that surrogacy and adoption are both huge options for her.

However, Selena revealed that she is in no rush to get married or start a family, despite being really happy with her current boyfriend , Benny Blanco .

Selena was diagnosed with lupus in 2013, which resulted in her receiving a kidney transplant in 2017.

The actress also struggles with mental health issues, including bipolar disorder , but takes medicine to maintain it.

It is not clear if those are the medical issues that prevent her from carrying a child or if it is something else.
