Walmart fan shares payment tip after shopper forced to abandon cart and leave store – she had $325 of groceries in cart

ONE Walmart shopper was forced to abandon her cart worth $325 of groceries after she left her payment card at home and was unable to pay with Apple Pay.

However, one fan shared a helpful payment tip that could help customers across the nation easily pay for their groceries.

Walmart shopper Lasheki Lester aired her frustration with the retail giant in response to a Facebook user's post.

The original post read, "Having Apple Pay really makes you not gaf [give a f**k] about where your card really is."

Lester responded, revealing her experience of having to leave over $300 worth of groceries due to Walmart not accepting Apple Pay.

"Until you go to Walmart with a cart that’s $325 and now you gotta just walk out bc they don’t accept Apple Pay," she wrote.

Others commented with similar experiences, with one saying, "Omggg, that’s exactly what happened to me last week. I was pissed.

"I keep forgetting they don’t have Apple Pay."

One person suggested she link her card to Walmart Pay, but Lester expressed a fear of being scammed.

"I don't like my cards hook to everything. Especially something like that...too much scamming. I might just be the one that gets got."

Walmart Pay is similar to Apple Pay, however, it only works if you have the retailer's app.

The app allows customers to pay with their phones by linking their cards to the app.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillion previously revealed why they refuse to accept Apple Pay at their locations.

"We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time," he said.

The reason for wanting to push the app is that it helps customers easily find items within the store.

While Walmart does offer an option to pay by app, customers have complained about the feature having issues.

"What's the point of @Walmart pay if it never works?" wrote on shopper.

"Wish yall would just get with the times and accept Apple Pay like everyone else if you aren't going to have a pay system that actually works."

Why doesn't Walmart offer Apple Pay?

CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don't offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.

Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that "We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time."

The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.

"That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for," he said.

"I need @Walmart to get Apple Pay of [something] because Walmart Pay failed me today over 15 minutes [at] the register & I'm getting 'oops something went wrong.'" wrote another shopper.

"Every time I've tried to use Walmart pay at a physical checkout it almost never works," another highlighted.

"There are two things that happen: The app says there's a problem or something, and nothing happens.

"It tries to proceed with the transaction and then locks me out of paying saying there was a security issue."
