ESPN TV analyst Kirk Herbstreit went on a rant about a possible injury situation during a college football game – and fans agreed with him.

The veteran broadcaster was alongside play-by-play commentator Chris Fowler as they were on the call of the Tennesee Volunteers ‘ 25-15 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 4.

During the first quarter, the Volunteers picked up a first and goal after a 38-yard pass from quarterback Nico Iamaleava to wide receiver Bru McCoy.

The fast Tennessee offense wanted to run a play, but Sooners defensive tackle Da’Jon Terry was down on the ground with an apparent injury.

He was attended to by a few athletic staffers and walked off the field.

But Herbstreit saw through Terry, believing he was faking an injury to stop the up-tempo action.

“This is college football . It drives me crazy,” the 55-year-old said.

“They look over after a big play and all of a sudden, he looks over and he just goes down.

“It’s not necessarily against the rules but it’s unethical as hell, when you see this all over against these tempo offenses, guys just go down with the quote-unquote injury.”

Fowler agreed with Herbstreit, telling him, “Preach, Brother Herbstreit.

“I think it’s pathetic,” Herbstreit added.

Terry would return to the game on the same drive and even sack Iamaleava.

Fans praised Herbstreit for his tirade calling out the ‘unethical rule’ broke in the game.

“Kirk is the best,” one wrote.

    “He ain’t wrong,” another said.

“ Bravo . We need analysts willing to criticize & and not just go along w/this nonsense,” a third added.

“He is 1,000 percent correct,” a fourth said.

Tennessee would get the last laugh as they went on to claim their fourth win of their season.

They are undefeated and will enter the bye with a 4-0 record.

Oklahoma, meanwhile, has a 3-1 record.

They will take on the Auburn Tigers this weekend.

Herbie has grown on me, his big ten allegiance wiltered a bit and he’s become imo the best asset to college game day. As a Vol fan for life, I never thought I’d say that, but he has clearly grown as an analyst
