    Stranger grabbed baby from mum’s arms on train and ran off in terrifying kidnap attempt – as CCTV released by cops

    A STRANGER grabbed a baby from its mum’s arms and ran off down a train in a terrifying kidnap attempt.

    The mum was holding the tot as she prepared to leave the service at Worksop in Nottinghamshire when she was ambushed by the man.

    He grabbed the baby from her arms and ran off down the carriage.

    Thankfully a relative managed to grab the youngster before he was able to flee.

    British Transport Police have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to.

    They confirmed he left the train at Barnsley following the horror on August 17.

    A spokesperson said: “British Transport Police are today issuing an image following an attempted child abduction on a train.

    “The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday 17 August when a mother carrying her baby was preparing to leave the service at Worksop.

    “Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation .”

    Anyone with information has been asked to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 228 of 18 August.
