Henry Hagg Lake is now open after closing for the weekend due to the Lee Falls Fire.

The popular Washington County recreation destination closed Aug. 8-11 to allow planes to dip into the lake to pick up water, which was then dropped on top of the nearly 300-acre Lee Falls Fire.

The fire forced more than 600 Cherry Grove residents to evacuate, but was on the way to full containment by Sunday, Aug. 12.

Scoggins Valley Park is a 2,500 park featuring two boat launches, nearly 15 miles of trails, an 18-hole disc golf course and picnic areas. The site is often used for fishing, boating and swimming.
