The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), part of the US Department of the Treasury, has announced (via Reuters) its largest ever penalty against T-Mobile in response to the network provider’s failure to prevent and report unauthorized access to sensitive data.The $60 million fine concerns T-Mobile's violation of a mitigation agreement relating to its $23 billion acquisition of Sprint in 2020.The multibillion-dollar fine was issued to penalize the company for data breaches that occurred in 2020 and 2021.
