VPD: Tuesday shooting remains under investigation

Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) says it is actively investigating a shooting that took place in the middle of the day Tuesday, injuring one person.

VPD officials said Wednesday a 53-year-old white male was struck in the upper arm by a bullet Tuesday afternoon.

“At 1:21 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, officers responded to the area of Speed Street and Washington Street for a report of a shooting,” VPD said. “(The victim) was taken by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. This case is under investigation.”
