The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation is calling all “Lies My Sister Told Me” extras.

The movie will be shown in the SCHF courtyard on Friday, Sept. 20 as part of the Mississippi Made Movie series.

The movie, which was filmed in downtown Vicksburg in 2021, features local scenes such as the SCHF courtyard, the B.B. Club, Vicksburg’s riverfront murals and Anchuca Historic Mansion and Inn. Several local actors, including Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones, who plays herself in one of the film’s climactic scenes, also appear in the movie. Some local residents also worked on the film’s production crew.

“Filming in Vicksburg was a great experience,” said Kyle Dill, Executive Producer and Owner of K5IVE, shortly before the film’s premiere. “The scenic shots in this film showcase and capture the beauty and good old-fashioned Southern charm of Vicksburg, a community that boasts an abundance of history and tradition.”

There will be a cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the movie will begin at 7:30 p.m., or sundown. There will also be a cash bar and a 50/50 Raffle. Tickets are $10 per person and are available on Eventbrite.com in advance and at the door. For more information on SCHF events, call the office at 601-631-2997 or email info@southernculture.org.
