Years of service: Chief of police recognized for 25 years of service; employees from five other city departments honored

The Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen during its regular meeting Monday recognized a group of employees spanning six city departments for their various years of service, including Chief of Police Penny Jones.

Jones was recognized for 25 years of service, dating back to her first year with the Vicksburg Police Department in 1999.

Also recognized during Monday’s meeting were Sedrick McKinley for one year of service to the Traffic Department; Eugena Henderson for one year of service to the Court Services department; Wanda Mason for four years of service to the Court Services department; Samantha Conway for seven years of service at the Vicksburg Municipal Airport; Derrick Gardner for 20 years of service to the Ambulance Department; and Percy Guy for 20 years of service to the Sewer Department.
