Downtown merchants are gearing up for the annual Hit the Bricks event, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m, providing extended hours for shoppers to get a head start on their holiday shopping.

Sponsored by the Vicksburg Main Street Program, Hit the Bricks includes shopping, dining and live music along Washington and adjoining streets. This year, the annual event has been tagged, “Hit the Bricks and Adjoining Streets.”

For a fun Halloween twist, merchants will be giving special discounts for adults who come dressed in costume.

“Come see all that downtown has to offer,” Main Street Executive Director Kim Hopkins said.

The evening will also include live music by Evan Brister, who will perform at Crawford Square in between Peterson’s and The Cinnamon Tree.
