A “moonwake” is the line of reflected light that the moon casts over the surface of a body of water. The term has a nautical connotation due to the way the line of moonlight resembles the wake of a ship. If you’re a long time reader of Morning Brief, you may remember another slightly more Poetic-with-a-capital-p term that means the same thing, which is “moonglade.”

Here’s a rare term that goes back a couple hundred years. “Summer-shine” is an English term that refers to the summer color or dress of a bird or insect. And I suppose that if you wanted to, you could also use it to describe some of the wonderful colors we humans like to wear in the summertime.
