    Man accused of breaking and entering at multiple churches

    YAWKEY W.Va. (WVDN) – An individual from Hamlin West Virginia was recently arrested and is accused of breaking and entering at multiple area churches. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:

    “On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 0400 hours, Sheriff Gary Linville was contacted by Lincoln 911 of a church Breaking and Entering at the Sumerco Church of God in Yawkey, WV. Sheriff Linville arrived on scene and located 25 year old Tanner Fugate of Hamlin, WV.

    “Later on this same date, WVSP Sgt. D. J. Miller and Sheriff Linville conducted follow up investigation on other church B&E’s that had occurred between April 29, 2024 and present day. Tanner Fugate has also been linked to other Breaking and Enterings at several other churches. “See list below”

    “The accused was charged with Breaking and Entering and transported to the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville, WV in lieu of bond. More charges are forthcoming. The status of this investigation is active and ongoing.

    “The below list of churches have been victimized.

    “Trace Fork Baptist Church, Open Door Bible Church, Porterville Baptist, Pleasant Hill Church, Harvey Creek United Baptist Church, Big Laurel Church, Ethel Baptist Church, Peaceful Valley Church, Sumerco Church of God, Upper Ten Mile United Baptist, Welcome Home United Baptist Church, Mildred Baptist Church, Ranger United Baptist Church, Zoar Baptist Church (Cabell County).”
