FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – In this edition of the State Fair Concert Series, we will focus on rising Country star, Bailey Zimmerman.

    WHO IS BAILEY

    ZIMMERMAN?

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky and just 24 years old, no country artist made a bigger splash in 2022 when Bailey Zimmerman burst onto the music scene. With two number one hits— ‘Fall in Love’ and ‘Rock and a Hard Place’—Zimmerman quickly stole the hearts of country fans around the world and that led him to releasing his first full album, titled ‘Religiously,’ that includes two more top chart singles, ‘Religiously’ and ‘Where it Ends.’

Zimmerman spent most of last year opening for Morgan Wallen, but fans knew it was just a matter of time before he was a headline act and would have someone opening for him in the same way, which will be Matt Schuster at the state fair.

Zimmerman also has ties to the state of West Virginia. Before his music career began, he worked in a meat packing plant and after that he moved to the Mountain State to work on a union gas pipeline.

Zimmerman eventually started sharing snippets of his own songs on Tik Tok in 2020 and 2021. His single ‘Never Comin Home’ garnered over one million views in five hours, and it hit Spotify’s Viral Music Chart top 20 after he released it officially. He borrowed money from his mother to pursue his music career and the rest is history for the rising star. He performed his first concert in 2021 and his band members that played for him, he only met three days prior to the show.

    WHY YOU SHOULD BUY TICKETS:

If there are any tickets still available at this point, Zimmerman would be one of the top concerts to go see. He has garnered a huge fan base including myself and I am not a country music person, but Zimmerman’s vocals and sounds make him a different type of country artist.

In another two to three years, Zimmerman will most likely be one of the biggest names in music like Miranda Lambert became after her trip to West Virginia. Lambert performed at the State Fair in the early 2000’s and hardly anyone knew who she was, but she then zoomed to the top of the charts soon after. Zimmerman is on that path as well and is more popular right now than Lambert was at that time.

Zimmerman performs at the Fair on Thursday, Aug. 15.
