LEWISBURG- With the LIV golf tournament starting this week at the Greenbrier, the Lewisburg Elks Country Club hosted a Green-Up! event from the WV Golf Association for young golfers to help come clean up the greens, fill divots, and learn how to take care of a course. LIV’s Iron head Golf Club team–Kevin Na, Danny Lee, Scott Vincent, and Jinichiro Kozuma– showcased the event as well

After the cleanup training ended, a putting contest took place. Hunter Smith, son of Steven and Hope Smith, hit a near perfect ball that rolled and curved right toward the hole before stopping just shy of it. Greenbrier East golfer Issac Cantrell sank the putt and won VIP passes to the driving range with the professionals this weekend. However, with Smith being only five years old and out-putting everyone else there, including the pros, they made an exception and gave him VIP “behind the rope” passes as well.

The WV Golf Association took to their social media to thank the Elks Club and stated what a great success the evening was.
