RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – The community is invited to worship with the congregation of the Fairlea Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church on Sunday, September 15, at the Ronceverte Island Park Amphitheater for a Sunday at the river worship followed by a covered dish lunch. The congregation will gather at 11 a.m. for worship, which will be led by the Reverend Ike Hughes. Church fellowship and a meal will follow for all in attendance. Attendees may wish to bring a chair or blanket to sit on during the service in the Amphitheater. Lunch following will be in the shelter just to the west of the Amphitheater.

Everyone is invited to enjoy this special opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ together as they join in fellowship to sing and hear the word.

Rev. Hughes and his family came to the Greenbrier Valley from Florida 15 years ago to take on the ministry at Fairlea ARP Church.  Located directly across from the Livestock Entrance to the West Virginia State Fairgrounds, the church was established 1940 as a congregation of the Associate Reformed Church. Their denominational roots are in Scotland and they have a high regard for the Bible.  Services at this church are traditional, with music song and preaching from the word.

The Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland came into existence on August 1, 1753. Reformed Presbyterians adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechism. They share two great concerns which are taught in the Holy Scriptures and flow from their history and heritage: the Lordship of Jesus Christ as Prophet, Priest and King over the Church, and the proclamation of the gracious gospel freely to all.

The Fairlea ARP Church meets regularly on Sundays, in the church building at 9364 Seneca Trail S., with services at 11 a.m., preceded by Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m.
