GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – On August 26, in the vicinity of Rhema Christian Academy, Charles Nelson Petty, 43, allegedly took a car while it was running in the parking lot. The vehicle, a 2019 Lexus, was valued at over $1000. According to the criminal complaint, Petty drove the vehicle several miles to Kroger in Ronceverte. Upon arriving at Kroger, Petty reportedly got out of the first vehicle and stole another running car; a gray 2009 Honda, also valued at over $1000.

Petty’s operator license is revoked for two prior DUIs and other driving revoked charges.

After a warrant was issued Petty was subsequently arrested and is in Southern Regional Jail with his bail set at $20,000.
