    New River Community and Technical College Launches “Starting a Mobile Food Service Operation” Course in Lewisburg

    LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College is excited to offer its course “Starting a Mobile Food Service Operation” on its Greenbrier Valley Campus. The course is designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge and skills needed to successfully launch and manage a mobile food business. The course will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

    The mobile food industry presents a unique opportunity for those looking to break into the culinary world. However, starting a mobile food service operation can be challenging without the right guidance and understanding of the foundational principles. This course will delve into the “3 Cs of Mobile Food Service” – Concept, Construction, and Compliance – each critical to the success of a mobile food service entrepreneur.

    The course highlights include learning how to develop a compelling and unique mobile food service concept that differentiates you in a competitive market, gaining insights into selecting the appropriate type of food truck or trailer to meet your budget and operational needs, and understanding local and state regulations to ensure compliance with food safety standards and licensing requirements.

    Instructor Bio: The course will be led by Daniel Groves, Program Manager for Tourism, Outdoor Recreation, and Culinary Arts at New River Community and Technical College. Daniel brings over 25 years of experience in the culinary industry, having worked in various aspects of food service from fast food to fine dining, and owning his own restaurant and catering business. He holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts and is passionate about regenerative farming, gardening, and sustainability.

    The class will be held on September 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Greenbrier Valley Campus, located at 653 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901. The cost to attend is $75, and the preregistration deadline is Sept. 3.

    The course is open to anyone interested in starting a mobile food business, including students, employees, and the community. No prior experience is necessary, making it accessible to all aspiring entrepreneurs.
