RUPERT W.Va. (WVDN) – According to a criminal complaint, on July 8, Travis Wayne Wickline made physical contact with force capable of causing harm or physical pain to another individual.

The complaint states that the officer was dispatched to the vicinity of Rupert in Greenbrier County to investigate an altercation that had already happened. When the officer arrived on scene, he spoke with the victim who told the officer Wickline had come into his residence and taken and consumed some of his food without permission. Wickline was identified as a brother to the wife of the victim. The victim reportedly told the officer Wickline is homeless and lives in a tent close to Rupert.

The victim provided images from his home camera of Wickline being on his property after being told by the victim to stay away. The victim allegedly told the officer Wickline is a known drug user. The victim also reportedly stated Wickline had been trying to sleep in their cars and assaulting their juvenile son. When the victim confronted Wickline, an altercation occurred. Allegedly, a verbal altercation turned physical when Wickline struck the victim.

Wickline reportedly had fled the scene and the officer attempted to find him at several local residences he was known to frequent but was unsuccessful. He left messages for Wickline to contact him but no contact was made. The officer requested a warrant be issued for the arrest of Wickline.

On Aug. 22, Wickline was arrested and placed in Southern Regional Jail. At the time of publishing, Wickline is no longer listed as an inmate at SRJ.
