WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) -White Sulphur Lions welcomed Abigail Spangler Monday at their meeting, who spoke about the purpose and future plans for Wellspring of Greenbrier, a non-profit dedicated to providing food, clothing, and other life essentials to unhoused and transient populations.

Wellspring’s Day Haven, located in Rupert (524 Nicholas Street) , provides s howers, laundry, and light refreshments on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost. They provide a safe inviting environment and some meals. They are open four days a week, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

They also facilitate various programs throughout the year, all focused on instilling hope and meeting the practical needs of our community . A food pantry is held twice a month. Area churches and organizations help provide food, cleaning products and volunteers for the center.

Spangler says she and her husband, Josiah (both registered nurses who serve as leaders of Wellspring ) are developing a holistic approach to help navigate the healthcare system . They serve approximately 1000 people each month and are always looking for more volunteers for their non-profit. If you are interested, please contact them at 304-392-2095.

WSS Lions meet every second and fourth Monday in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 7 p.m. Please join them anytime to learn about other ways they serve the community .
