Your rent buys more space in Wichita than other US cities, report says. See how much

Are you looking to find a city that will offer more space for your rent? Well, according to one study, you may want to stay in Wichita after all.

A ranking by RentCafe has Wichita neck and neck with Toledo, Ohio, for the U.S. city offering the most space for a $1,500 a month apartment.

RentCafe ranked the 200 largest cities in the U.S. by looking at the average price per square foot of rentals as well as the average size of apartments in each city.

RentCafe reports that the average apartment costing that much in Wichita would offer about 1,359 square feet, in comparison to Toledo’s 1,345 square feet.

Wichita offers a whole 1,131 square feet more than Manhattan, New York, which falls dead last in the ranking, offering a 228-square-foot apartment for that same price.

Zillow reports that the median price people pay for rent in Wichita is $1,100, which is 49% lower than the national median. The company reports the median rent for a one-bedroom rental in the area sits at $650, a two-bedroom sits at $900 and a three-bedroom at $1,394.
