One of Old Town Square’s longest-running restaurants is leaving, bound for the west side

Chris Tincher has been running his Todd Brian’s Brick Street Café & Tavern in Old Town Square since 2012.

But he won’t be there much longer.

Tincher said on Wednesday that he plans to leave Old Town for the west side. He’s signed a lease on a new space — though he’s not ready to share the address — and plans to move the restaurant there and “rebrand” it.

“We’re growing and want to go in a different direction with the concept,” he said.

He hopes to have the move complete and the restaurant reopen by December or January. In the meantime, he’s looking for someone interested in an “asset purchase agreement,” meaning they’d take over the lease for the Todd Brian’s space and buy its equipment.

Tincher said his new west-side space has much more room, which is what he feels like he needs. He has big ideas for the new spot, though he’s also not ready to share them. He does plan to change the restaurant’s name.

“We want to grow the concept and we need a bigger space,” he said. “We have new ideas.”

Tincher, who also owns Bite Me BBQ at 132 N. St. Francis, said Todd Brian’s will stay open at least through October in Old Town Square. He operates his catering business, Thyme & Thyme Again Catering, from the Todd Brian’s kitchen.

Tincher, a veteran of restaurants such as Amarillo Grill, P.F. Chang’s, Piztros and Ted’s Montana Grill, was only the second tenant in the Old Town Square space — after a German restaurant called Imbiss Grille. Todd Brian’s serves Cajun-inspired dishes.

Any aspiring restaurateurs interested in the Todd Brian’s space should contact Tincher by text at 316-708-5272 .
