Co-owners of Old Town Square restaurant are about to open another restaurant nearby

Another restaurateur is preparing to take over the Old Town restaurant space that Lotus Leaf vacated a year ago.

Old Town Burrito is a new project by Arnulfo Garcia and his wife, Nathaly Martinez, who are co-owners of the 2-year-old Bocatto Eatery & Pasta in Old Town Square . They’re opening the new restaurant at 251 N. Washington, next door to Blue Fin Sake Bar & Sushi .

The space also was recently home to the short-lived R&R Public House , which closed in August after two months in business. (The owner said he is looking for a different space and hopes to reopen.)

Old Town Burrito will serve Mexican staples like burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and enchiladas as well as burgers and hot wings, Garcia said. It will also offer beer and cocktails. In fact, the only thing holding up the restaurant’s opening is the liquor license.

The couple, Garcia said, wanted to open a place of their own and are considering eventually selling their ownership in Bocatto to their business partner so that they can focus on their new restaurant.

“It’s going to be a nice place,” he said.

Martinez and Garcia, a former cook at Chester’s Chophouse, opened Bocatto at 321 N. Mead in Old Town Square in July of 2022 with partner Jimmy Bolanos.
