David and Barbara Howell of Wilson recently donated a collection of arrowheads and stone tools to the Frisco Native American Museum.

The collection was started by David Howell’s father, John Collins Howell, in the early 1960s. David joined his father in collecting in the late 1970s, and for 30 years they added to their finds. They looked in Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe counties.

The Howells made the donation to preserve and share the items with the public.

“I sincerely hope others will enjoy these national treasures as much as I have,” David Howell said.

For more information about the museum, which is located on the Outer Banks in Frisco, visit www.nativeamericanmuseum.org .
