Wilson Chapel offers food giveaway Saturday

Wilson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 513 Barnes St. E., will hold its monthly food pantry giveaway at noon Saturday, July 20. The church distributes food every third Saturday of the month from noon to 2 p.m. or until supplies are depleted.

Wilson Chapel marks Wilson Christian Society anniversary

Wilson Chapel Church, 513 E. Barnes St., will observe the anniversary of the Wilson Christian Society at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, July 21. Adult Sunday School starts at 9 a.m.

Burning Bush has Sunday morning service

Burning Bush Free Will Baptist Church, 6484 Speight School Road, will have Elder Alexis Speight as preacher at 10:30 Sunday, July 21.

St. Paul marks Women’s Day on Sunday

St. Paul Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) will celebrate Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 28, with Elder Andrea Taylor as speaker. Music will be provided by the Ladies Chorus. Women will wear white. At 3 p.m., Women’s Day will conclude with the theme: An Evening of Elegance Through Hats by God’s Grace. Ladies will wear their favorite hats. Elder Shannon Davis Deans will be the guest speaker. The church is located at 4009 Lake Wilson Road.

Piney Groves has Sunday services

Bishop Robert Smith will preach at Piney Groves Free Will Baptist Church for the 11 a.m. service Sunday, July 21. The Male Chorus will sing. At 4 p.m., the church will celebrate first lady Rybin Smith on her appreciation service. Pastor Barnita Bynum will be guest preacher. The church is located at 309 N. Vick St.

Life in the Word observes church anniversary

Life in the Word Ministry will celebrate the church’s 20th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 21, with the Rev. George Atkinson as speaker.

City of Refuge has weekly services

City of Refuge, located at 138 Walnut St, has worship service at 11 a.m. each Sunday. Power of Deliverance service is Thursdays at 7 p.m., and men’s prayer is first and third Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

Simon Grove plans special events

Simon Grove Holiness Church will have a fun day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Youth should take their swimsuits. The church is also planning a 92nd church anniversary celebration with the theme “The Church That Prays Together Stays Together” hosted by Pastor Terry Wilson and first lady Minister Trina Wilson. Anniversary services are planned at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 21, with Pastor Terry Wilson and 10 a.m. Sunday, July 28, with Bishop Robert Daniels of Mount Zion Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. Simon Grove is located at 4334 N.C. 42.

St. James plans food giveaway

St. James Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will have its community food giveaway at noon Saturday, July 27. First come, first served. The church is located at 1739 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
