The early going for the Wilson Christian varsity volleyball team this season hasn’t been kind to the Lady Chargers, who suffered back-to-back sweeps to end last week and begin this one.

After picking up their first win Thursday, Aug. 29, the Lady Chargers lost in three sets the following day at undefeated New Life Camp home school team in Raleigh. Tuesday, in the post-Labor Day return to the court, Wilson Christian was sent out in three games by visiting Fellowship Baptist of Durham.

The losses leave the Lady Chargers 1-5 overall with a North Carolina Christian School Association 2-A East Region mark of 1-1. Wilson Christian steps back into region play Friday, Sept. 6, at home against Hilltop Christian of Fuquay-Varina.

In Tuesday’s match against Fellowship Baptist, Emily Moore led the way at the service line for WCA with three aces. Logan Balance delivered five assists and two aces while Lilly Hoskins had two aces and an assist. Reagan Sherrod added two blocks.

In the 25-9, 25-13, 25-6 loss at New Life Camp, Hoskins’ two aces and a block led WCA.
