JV ROUNDUP: WCA picks up pair of wins

Brylan Harris had the hot hand from the service line for her Wilson Christian junior varsity volleyball team in a pair of wins for the Lady Chargers in their last two games.

Harris and teammate Khloe Barnes each served four aces as the Lady Chargers swept visiting Fellowship Baptist of Durham on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 25-7, 25-19. Barnes added two kills while Reagan Sherrod contributed three aces and two kills.

Sherrod joined Harris as the top server in the Lady Chargers’ four-set victory at home Friday, Aug. 30. Sherrod added a block for Wilson Christian, which improved to 4-2 with both wins.

Cyclones 6-0 after sweeping Spartans

WINTERVILLE — Community Christian’s record remained perfect through six volleyball matches with a 25-15, 29-27 conquest of host Christ Covenant in a Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association region test Tuesday.

The Cyclones, now 3-0 in region matches, were led at the service line by Anna Pierce with 11 points, including two aces, and two kills. Autumn Bradshaw rang up seven assists and two kills while Ellie Gay also had two kills to go with six service points, including an ace.

CCS hits the road Thursday to play at Ahoskie Christian.
