Farris & Thomas Law Student-Athlete of the Week: Mollie Blake, Fike High

Mollie Blake has been a big part of her Fike High varsity volleyball team’s lineup this season, making the senior middle hitter this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Student-Athlete of the Week.

Mollie had six kills as the Golden Demons fell in four games at C.B. Aycock on Tuesday, Oct. 1, before pounding nine kills to help Fike sweep visiting East Wake on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Ranked No. 9 in her senior class at Fike, the daughter of Liza and Walter Blake of Wilson has a 4.347 GPA while taking Advanced Placement and Honors courses along with Career and College Promise dual-enrollment classes at Wilson Community College.

Mollie is a member of National Honor Society at Fike. She previously swam for the Golden Demons as well.

Mollie is active in her United Methodist Youth Fellowship group at First Methodist Church in Wilson. She is a multi-year member of Wilson Youth Council and served as a squad leader last year. She also participated in the YMCA Young Leaders Institute as a junior.

Mollie played club volleyball with Eastern Elite in Goldsboro for three years.
