Oregon’s Primary Election is coming up in May, and any day now, the citizens of Coos County will be getting their ballots. I’d like to draw your readers’ attention to the useful, nonpartisan resources the League of Women Voters provides to help citizens make their ballot choices.

First is the League’s Vote411.org website. Every election, Vote411 asks all the candidates to post answers to a few basic questions. The League also provides links to candidate forums and interviews, info about registering and turning in your ballot, and details on the ballot measures. Users simply enter their address on the home page of Vote411.org, pick a language and a party (or they can see the candidates running in any party), and the site shows them everything that will be on their ballot, with all the information the League has been able to collect.

At the local level, you can also find useful information on our Coos County League’s website, https://my.lwv.org/oregon/coos-county. Look under “Events” for videos of our candidate and issue forums or under “Voting & Elections” for general information.

Check out these sites for everything you need to be a well-informed voter!

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization dedicated to promoting a well-informed electorate. We never endorse or oppose any candidate or party.

    Thank you,

    Kay Kerriden, President

    LWVCC
