This summer you can take a local seafood tour to discover more about our local seafood and how your food makes it to the table. On Saturday July 27th, August 10th and August 30th, join Oregon Sea Grant experts on a guided tour through Charleston's commercial docks to learn about Oregon’s commercial fishing industry. This free walk will include learning what different vessels are used and the fishing gear that is needed to harvest the seafood within our waters. It will also teach what seafood is brought back by local fisher’s and participants may even meet some of the fisherman that work the waters near Charleston.

If you are interested in joining one of these tours you can reserve your free ticket at seagrant.oregonstate.edu/outreach-and-engagement/shop-dock.

Participants should expect a 60–90-minute walk that will include a gift bag at the completion of the tour stuffed with informational resources and local seafood products. Tours will begin at 9:30 am, 10:30 am and 11:30 am all three dates.

If you have any questions or need disability accommodations, please email dock.tours@oregonstate.edu at least one week in advance of your tour.
