    Qualifying for SNAP Benefits in Alabama: Financial Criteria and Income Limits

    (Alabama)- Residents of Alabama may qualify for the Alabama Food Assistance Program (SNAP) which is designed to assist residents in need with purchasing food. To be eligible, Alabamians must meet specific financial and household criteria.

    Alabama Media News reported that approximately 368,642 people in the state received SNAP benefits in 2021.

    Financial Requirements: To qualify for benefits, Alabama residents must have a current bank balance (including savings and checking combined) under $2,001. However, if you share your household with a person or persons aged 60 and over, or with a person with a disability (which could be a child, your spouse, a parent, or yourself), your current bank balance must be under $3,001.

    Annual Household Income Limits: Additionally, your annual household income before taxes must be below the following maximum levels, depending on your household size:

    • For a household size of one, the maximum income level is $19,578 per year.
    • For a household size of two, the maximum income level is $26,572 per year.
    • For a household size of three, the maximum income level is $33,566 per year.
    • For a household size of four, the maximum income level is $40,560 per year.
    • For a household size of five, the maximum income level is $47,554 per year.
    • For a household size of six, the maximum income level is $54,548 per year.
    • For a household size of seven, the maximum income level is $61,542 per year.
    • For a household size of eight, the maximum income level is $68,536 per year.

    Households with more than eight people should add $6,994 per additional person to the maximum income amount.

    I know people who are not disabled .no kids .won't work..won't hit a lick at nothing but a dope pipe ...and get free rent ..medical and get enough food stamps to live in each month..people out here struggling to pay bills and keep food on the table and they help these people instead ..makes me sick...there's working homeless ..homeless ..and elderly who are struggling to pay bills and medical ...that's the ones who need help..!! the sorrier you are the more help you get

    Following my previous comment this post really pisses me off cause for one they want in your business with all your funds you receive! I have to save as much money as I can for EMERGENCIES ETC… especially when I’ve been the ONLY ONE bringing in the MONEY to take care of myself and my kids without help from getting any form of Child Support! But god forbid that you have any extra so called disposable money as they call it cause You’ll be DENIED!!!!! Obviously people in office’s thinking and my thinking are not the same!!! Get your HEAD STRAIGHT ON YOUR SHOULDERS ALABAMA AND HELP THE ONES THAT TRULY NEED HELP!!!
