    Freddie Jackson Makes His Announcement

"Hey everyone! Freddie Jackson here with a very personal and important announcement. It is with an open heart that I share some personal news: I have been diagnosed with kidney disease," he wrote. "This journey has been challenging, but I am not facing it alone. My close friends, my manager and music family, and all of you are here with me, keeping me going."

Jackson's fans first grew concerned about his health during his performance at the St. Kitts Music Festival in July, where he appeared slimmer than usual. This concern was further amplified when Jackson discussed his health challenges in an interview with The Official Black Magazine in September 2023. Reflecting on his health journey, Jackson noted, “You know, sometimes we go through aches and pains, and sometimes, as guys, we don’t go to the doctor like we need to. We just feel like we’re always supermen.”

He recounted a moment of realization when his doctor advised him to address his health concerns. “I go to the doctor a few times, and he’s like, ‘You might want to check this out,’ letting me know something is wrong. I go, ‘No! Not me, I’m Mr. Rock Me Tonight.’ And he’s like, ‘You’re being rocked and don’t even know it.’”

Despite the health challenges, Jackson remains committed to his well-being, even if it means scaling back on performances. “That’s another reason I pulled back because my health is more important than the stage,” he shared. “Many people who started with me are not here today. I’m sad to say, but, as much as I loved it, I love Freddie more.”

Jackson's openness about his condition and his proactive approach to managing his health resonate with many. His partnership with the National Kidney Foundation is a significant step toward raising awareness and encouraging others to prioritize their health.

Freddie Jackson’s story is a powerful reminder to Alabamans of the importance of health awareness and self-care. As he faces this challenge, his resilience and dedication to raising awareness offer hope and inspiration to many.
