Alabama Man in Custody for October 2024 East Lake Shooting

The Birmingham Police Department has announced that detectives have arrested a man in connection to the murder of Paul Devaried Terry Jr. Terry was shot and killed on Friday, October 11, 2024, in the 8200 Block of 4th Avenue North, also known as the East Lake area.

Authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Anthony Rudolfo Major,a resident of Birmingham. Following a thorough investigation, Birmingham police detectives presented the case details to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, and after carefully reviewing the evidence, the DA's office supported the issuance of a murder warrant for Major.

Currently, Major is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond as the investigation continues. The police urge anyone with additional information about the case to come forward and assist in bringing justice for Terry and his family.
