    Crack case cracked

    Last Thursday detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team made an arrest in a narcotics investigation which involved the sell/distribution of crack cocaine and methamphetamine in the Hamptonville area. This investigation began in July of 2024 and multiple suspects have been identified as co-conspirators in the matter. The main suspect was Patrick Shane Williams, age 53 of Hamptonville.

    Williams was discovered to be allegedly selling these controlled substances at his residence of 4844 Old US Highway 421 West in Hamptonville. He has an extensive criminal history which began in 1991 and was arrested and charged in Yadkin County in 1998 with the Sell/Delivery of Cocaine which resulted in a 13-16 month prison sentence. Williams’ most recent conviction occurred in 2015 for Trafficking in Cocaine in Yadkin County which resulted in an 88-118 month prison sentence. He was released from prison in May of 2020. On Sept. 19, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Williams and located him during a traffic stop on US Highway 421. This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

    Williams was charged with the following:

    • 2 felony counts of Sell/Deliver a Sch. II Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine)

    • 3 felony counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine & Methamphetamine)

    • 3 felony counts of Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

    • 2 felony counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale/Use of Controlled Substances

    • 1 misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    He received a $250,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in Yadkin County court on Sept. 25.
