Jonesville father accused of assaulting six-year old daughter
A Jonesville man facing child abuse charges was arrested Monday at 10:30 a.m. at East Wilkes High School. According to a press release from the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year old Adam Hal Cave, was served a Yadkin County warrant for felony child abuse. Cave was arrested at East Wilkes High School but the charges did not originate from a Wilkes County School, the release stated. The charges were filed by Jonesville Police Department. Two Forbush High School seniors have recently signed to play sports in college. Ethan Hutchens signed to play golf for Montreat College in Black Mountain. As a junior last spring, Hutchens was an All-Foothills 2A Conference selection; he also helped the Falcons finish runner-up in the 2A Midwest Regional tournament and was a state qualifier. McKinley Reavis recently signed to play football for Guilford College in Greensboro. As a senior this past fall, Reavis led the Falcons with 825 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 45 receptions and was named to the All-Foothills 2A Conference for offense.

East Bend mourns loss of longtime town commissioner
