Veterans Cup holds trivia night fundraiser to fight veteran suicide
Veterans Cup is hosting its second Annual Veterans Cup Trivia Night fundraiser on April 20 at 5 p.m. at the Richard Childress Racing, 425 Industrial Drive, Welcome. Grant-funded program at Jonesville PD encourages exercise
Thanks in part to a 2023 Wellness Grant from the North Carolina League of Municipalities received by the Jonesville Police Department, workout equipment was purchased and set up for employees encouraging daily work out sessions. Captain Scotty Vestal composed a new wellness program titled the Captain’s Fitness Challenge. Yadkin County Parks and Recreation community workshop planned for April 18

Two drug busts, stolen firearm recovered
After working several locations in the East Bend area, investigations by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team on April 11 have lead to three total arrests, the seizure of methamphetamine, and the recovery of a stolen firearm. In the first investigation, Darrel Wayne Pinnix, age 38 of East Bend, was located during a warrant service and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Bluegrass convention keeps old time music alive
The Yadkin Bluegrass and Old Time Convention is a 35-year tradition in the community. The competition, hosted by the Yadkin Arts Council, is held each spring on the campus of Yadkinville Elementary where a host of youth and adult musicians perform.
