Alpha and Omega Corn Maze announces new scholarship
Alpha and Omega Corn Maze has created a college scholarship with the Shallow Ford Foundation of up to $2,500. Eligible applicants will be current and former employees of the Corn Maze within the last three years, who have financial need, and have worked at least 50 hours in a season. Board approves funds received from State for Medicaid Expansion
During its Jan. 16 meeting, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners held a Public Hearing for and approved a rezoning request located on W. Main St. / W. Old US 421. The board also approved the Final Environmental Assessment for Rehabilitation of Dam 19A and 21 of the Deep Creek Watershed. SCC offering electrical contractor prep class
Surry Community College is offering a class for persons interested in pursuing their N.C. Electrical Contractor license. The class will run from Tuesday, Jan. 30 through Thursday, June 13, meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. This is a standalone, continuing education class for those interested in the electrical field and will provide instruction needed to pass state required testing to become an electrical contractor in North Carolina. Cost for the course is $183. The class will meet in room PC-136 of The Pilot Center at 612 E Main Street in Pilot Mountain. Open auditions for Yadkin Arts Council’s spring production
The Yadkin Arts Council will hold open auditions for “Southern Fried Funeral” on Feb. 2 from 6 — 8 p.m. and Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m. on the Willingham Theater stage. A 55-year old Boonville man has been arrested on child sex abuse charges.
