    Knowledge Inspires Notable Giving (K.I.N.G.) Entertainment Group celebrated its 2024 Knowledge Inspired Notable Giving Mixer & Silent Auction on Saturday, July 27 at Ventana’s rooftop in Downtown Atlanta.

    The event was held to award local influencers and community leaders for doing good in the community, and award scholarships to local college students.

    “We have a small donation that’s going to be awarded to two individuals from Georgia State University. The intent in the long run is to pay off $50,000 – $60,000 in student loan debt for each individual,” said LeAndrew Miller, founder and facilitator for K.I.N.G. “Knowledge Inspires Notable Giving was created because I wanted to help individuals in paying off their student loan debt.”

    “When I was in college I had it as well. I was fortunate to be in the Air Force and I’m a disabled veteran, so they paid all of my [student loan debt] off. I wanted to be able to let others have that financial autonomy as well.”

    K.I.N.G. Entertainment Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating student loan debt for current graduate students burdened by financial challenges. It’s mission is to support these students as they embark on career paths that contribute to the American economy’s strength and vitality.

    When Miller started K.I.N.G., he initially used the organization to host concerts and parties for college students to raise money to provide opportunities to pay off student debts. Now, his focus is to create larger benefit concerts around Georgia, in addition to hosting other events that will continue to raise funds for the benefit of students.

    During the K.I.N.G. Mixer & Silent Auction, the organization gave awards to a select few community leaders who also support the organization, including:

    • Josh Powell (Founder of 21 Reasons to Give & former 2x NBA Champion);
    • Rashaun Kemp (servant-leader and GA State Senator);
    • Kyle ‘Push’ Dutcher (Internet Personality, Professional Roller Skater, Previous skater alongside Usher Raymond);
    • Rodney Bullard (Founder of Carter Days LLC and national organization of We Are The Same House)
    • Omari Henderson (Founder of ZuCot Gallery, largest African American art gallery in the southeast)

    “I really don’t feel like I’m deserving because there’s a lot more work that I would love to do. My sole purpose with me being 41 is that I know that I am supposed to serve others. I’m supposed to bring people together, I’m supposed bridge the gap; help create solutions that solve a lot of the issues that are going on,” Powell said.

    Georgia State University students Kersiah Asanful, Felisa Shorter, and Somkenechukwu Onyeka, were all presented with $500 education debt relief grants.
