If you love fried pickles, you’ll definitely want to try this tasty dip recipe. Made with cream cheese, dill pickles, and spices, this Fried Pickle Dip is the perfect appetizer for any party, gathering, or game day spread! Creamy, tangy, and crunchy, it’s a crowd favorite!

Have you seen this fried pickles dip recipe going viral on the Internet? A few months ago, I saw it briefly as I was scrolling through Tiktok. I was intrigued with the idea, but kept scrolling. A few days later, I saw it again, this time on Instagram. I took it as a sign that I HAD to test it out for myself. Thank goodness I did because after a few tweaks and changes to fit my tastes, this fried dill pickle dip may just be a new favorite in my house! I now make it at any and every party, event, and get together I can!

Why Make this Fried Pickle Ranch Dip

    • Perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion– not only is this a party favorite, but you can make this up to one day in advance to save on prep time the day of.
    • Made with just a few simple ingredients– bread crumbs, butter, cream cheese, sour cream, Ranch dressing mix, and pickles combine into the ULTIMATE recipe!
    • Creamy, crunchy, and flavor packed– not only does this dip have a creamy flavor, but it also has the slight heat from the dill pickles, the crunchiness from the Panko bread crumbs, and more!

Ingredients Needed for Fried Dill Pickle Dip

    • Bread Crumbs– I use seasoned Panko bread crumbs, however, any type works great
    • Butter– I use unsalted butter, but salted butter works too. This combines with the bread crumbs to make a toasted topping that resembles the “fried” taste of classic fried pickles.
    • Cream Cheese– softened to room temperature. I really like using the whipped cream cheese in the tub, however, the block works too.
    • Sour Cream– this acts as the creamy base of the dip. Feel free to use a plant based sour cream.
    • Pickle Juice– what is a pickle dip without adding in some juice, right? This enhances the flavor, so be sure not to skip this ingredient.
    • Ranch Seasoning– I use store brand ranch seasoning mix, however, Hidden Valley is great too. You can make it homemade by combining onion powder, Parsley, dill, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chives.
    • Pickles– I highly recommend using high quality Dill pickles as these are the star of the show. However, feel free to use your favorite flavor pickle in this recipe if you prefer.

Variations of this Crunchy Pickle Dip

    • For an added protein and flavor boost, stir in 1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon.
    • To make things spicy, add in some fresh, chopped jalapenos.
    • If you love a cheesy addition, 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese or Pepper Jack cheese can be stirred into the dip.
    • Don’t have breadcrumbs? No worries! Skip that part and simply top with crushed potato chips.

How to make Fried Pickle and Ranch Dip

    1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add in the breadcrumbs and stir until crumbs are golden brown and toasted.
    2. Remove from heat and set toasted panko breadcrumbs aside to cool.
    3. In a mixing bowl, blend together the cream cheese, sour cream, pickle juice, and Ranch seasoning using an electric hand mixer.
    4. Once creamy and smooth, stir in the chopped pickles.
    5. Sprinkle the toasted panko crumbs on top and serve. Garnish with fresh chives just before serving for added flavor.

Tips for the BEST Fried Pickle Dip

    • You can top this with additional chopped pickles or even pickle slices.
    • Sprinkle some fresh Dill on top before serving for added flavor.
    • To kick up the heat, stir in some red pepper flakes.
    • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to room temperature as this allows the dip to be smooth, creamy, and free from any lumps throughout.
    • Toast the breadcrumbs just before needing. If you are making the dip early, chill mixture in the fridge without making the bread crumb mixture until ready to serve. You want the breadcrumbs nice and crunchy/toasted.

    Storage and Make Ahead Instructions

    • You can prepare this dip up to 2 days in advance. Simply cover mixture and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Be sure to not top with the breadcrumbs until just before serving.
    • If you have leftover dip, cover and store in the refrigerator up to 3 days. The topping won’t be crunchy after serving, however, the flavor will still taste great!
    • Due to the dairy in this recipe, I recommend chilling in the fridge until served. This is best enjoyed cold or fresh.
