Before he jetted off to New Orleans, President Joe Biden told reporters he would attend Donald Trump’s inauguration if the former president is elected. “I have good manners, not like him,” ABC News reports Biden said on the South Lawn. He also doubled down on calling Trump “a genuine danger to American security” over the weekend and said, “That’s a factual statement.” For context, Trump broke tradition and did not attend Biden’s inauguration ceremony in Jan. 2021. “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” Trump tweeted at the time. Trump’s absence didn’t bother Biden who, according to CNN, said, “It’s a good thing, him not showing up.” “He exceeded even my worst notions about him. He’s been an embarrassment to the country, embarrassed us around the world. He’s not worthy to hold that office,” he added. However, Mike Pence, Trump’s former VP, did attend Biden’s inauguration.
