Bub Carrington’s Buckets can Strengthen Knicks’ Bench
The Knicks could use a brilliant scorer and tough competitor like Pitt’s Bub Carrington in their rotation. The New York Knicks struggled with one glaring issue throughout the 2023-24 season, especially in the postseason and even more especially off the bench: shooting. It’s why they traded for Bojan Bogdanovic...
Dillon Jones and the Art of Versatility
Dillon Jones isn’t a high-profile name but at Weber State he showed a high-profile game that could fit the Knicks’ versatile system. In the history of college basketball, only one player has played at least 20 minutes per game with a usage rate of 30% while hitting 30% for both defensive rebounding and assist rates. You might be wondering who this player is because of course you would have already heard of a player achieving such impressive statistical numbers. You could assume the mainstream media has been talking about him, or at least that he would have been a big deal in the college basketball world. However, neither of those things is true for Weber State’s do-it-all wing Dillon Jones.
Tyler Kolek Could Fit the Knicks’ Grit
Tyler Kolek is an undersized point guard, but he’s got the feel, the fire, and the shooting to stick in the NBA. During a podcast session with Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart gained some chuckles and viral replays when he described Pacers guard T.J. McConnell as someone you can’t just beat in a prospective street fight, but rather, “you can’t just win, you have to kill him. He’s not going to stop.”
Zach Edey Could Shore Up the Knicks’ Frontcourt
Zach Edey has the potential to play a key role on next year’s Knicks, should he be available for the taking. Zach Edey is one of the most decorated college basketball players of this generation, winning consecutive National Player of the Year awards in 2023 and 2024 while leading the Purdue Boilermakers to a National Title birth, where they ultimately fell short to powerhouse UConn Huskies.
Ryan Dunn’s Defense Makes Him an Ideal Knicks Draft Target
Virginia’s Ryan Dunn is one of the best defensive prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft but has limitations on the other end. Should the Knicks look his way?. After announcing his decision to declare his draft for the 2024 NBA Draft back in April, sophomore guard Ryan Dunn is ready to put his two remaining seasons with the Virginia Cavaliers behind him and take a shot at the big stage. The 6-foot-7, 3-and-D wing with elite defense at the wing and a near-7-foot-2 wingspan can be a great role player for the Knicks.
Draft SZN: World Tour
The 2024 draft is loaded with international players from the top down. Here are some lesser-known prospects the Knicks could be considering. There has been more than enough criticism of the 2024 draft class to the point where it has now become a talking point with the prospects during the pre-draft process. You can even make a case that the narrative went so far one way that the pendulum has swung all the way back around to where the discussions have become about how deep and full of role players this class is.
Mikal Bridges could be The Knicks’ Missing Piece
It will be tough, but the Knicks should do everything possible to get Mikal Bridges in the Orange and Blue. The Knicks’ fun and galvanizing season came to a disappointing end a few weeks ago with a Game 7 home loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Despite the disappointing ending, they enjoyed an incredibly successful season that was eventually derailed by key injuries to Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, OG Anunoby for stretches, and then ultimately, Jalen Brunson. Undoubtedly one of the most likable and successful Knicks teams of this generation won 50 games in the regular season and battled tooth and nail to the absolute end until they had nothing left to give. Although the ‘Bockers fell short of the ultimate goal, there is now tremendous hope and optimism for the future, and looking back, plenty of memories that made us fans tremendously proud to pull for them.
Draft SZN’s First Knicks-Specific Big Board
The Knicks have three top-40 picks in this year’s draft, and Nick Carannante breaks down the top players they should be looking at. The NBA draft’s final outlook is starting to take shape, as this week saw players decide whether to return to school or remain in the draft. That distinction could be massive when looking at the end of the first round and who may be available in that range. One difference this year’s class presents compared to a typical year is the greatness in range for each prospect.
Knicks Must Re-Sign OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein
OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein are set to enter free agency. The Knicks absolutely must re-sign them both. The 2023-24 season came with a lot of ups and downs for the New York Knicks, from clinching the No. 2 seed in the regular season and making it to the playoffs to heartbreaking key injuries that cut their playoff run short. Regardless, I think the city can agree that this team is special and worth taking another shot at the title again with next season. But what exactly do the Knicks have to do in the off-season in order to get another run going?
Ranking the Best Knicks Teams of the Last 15 Years
The Knicks are starting to turn their fortunes around, creating a team with legitimate buzz for the first time in a decade. A conversation with a co-worker recently sparked a thought: were the 2023-24 New York Knicks the best Knicks team I had ever seen?. It’s a loaded question but...
Assessing the Knicks’ Frontcourt Situation
What can the Knicks do to surround Jalen Brunson with the right blend of size and depth in the frontcourt?. Over the past decade or so, the NBA has developed into a run-and-gun, faster-paced league that has placed an increased emphasis on a high volume of perimeter shots to be successful. The newer, analytics-driven brand of basketball has rewarded teams with elite shooting ability and athleticism. The Association has never had more talented players and scoring outputs are at an all-time high.
How The 2023-24 Knicks Came to Be
It was a long road to creating a sustainable team. But under Leon Rose, the Knicks have done just that and earned the city’s love in the process. What the New York Knicks have accomplished in the 2023-24 season can’t be overstated. They became what so many fans have wanted for so long: a team they are proud to root for. They play for the name in front of the jersey and, most importantly, for each other. This team is hardnose, hard-working, and connected. They are New Yorkers through and through.
Draft SZN Begins: NBA Combine Winners
The 2024 Knicks’ playing days are done, but the work isn’t. The NBA Combine had some clear winners that may impact Knicks’ decision-makers. For the Knicks, Draft SZN has officially begun due to a slew of injuries and the Indiana Pacers collectively deciding to stop missing shots. For the rest of the NBA however, Draft SZN started last week with the lottery and the NBA Combine in Chicago.
Knicks Injuries Catch Up, Eliminated at MSG
The Knicks ran out of gas in the final game and to add insult to injury the basketball Gods dealt a fatal blow with Jalen Brunson fracturing his hand and was out most of the second half. The New York Knicks fell in Game 7 to the Indiana Pacers at...
Knicks Fall Short, Head Home For Game 7
The Knicks got blown out in Game 6 and suffered an insult-to-injury blow as Josh Hart left early with an abdominal injury. The New York Knicks (3-3) were unable to clinch their spot in the Eastern Conference Finals tonight after an intense beatdown by the Indiana Pacers, making the Pacers undefeated on their home court all series long.
Knicks Must Go at Tyrese Haliburton on Defense in Game 6
The Knicks should keep getting Tyrese Haliburton involved on defense as they look to close the Pacers out in Game 6. Jalen Brunson walked the ball up the floor, surveying his options on offense. Deuce McBride was waiting in the wings with Tyrese Haliburton defending him. As Brunson sees this, he takes advantage.
Knicks Blow Out Pacers, Move One Win From ECF
The Knicks got back to their hustling, hounding ways and won their first blowout of the playoffs, taking a 3-2 advantage in the series. The New York Knicks (3-2) won a must-win game against the Indiana Pacers (2-3) at Madison Square Garden, responding emphatically to a blowout suffered in Game 4 on the road and finally winning big, 121-91.
Bounce-Back Areas for the Knicks in Game 5
After two tough losses, the Knicks need to get back to their roots of high-intensity, balanced ball to regain the momentum. After coming off a huge, disappointing blowout loss in Game 4 against the Pacers (121-89), the Knicks should be looking to make as many adjustments as they can in order to secure their third win of the series. The Pacers, having evened the series 2-2, are coming in with momentum while the Knicks are not. Even worse, they lack the bodies to change the gameplan much heading into the crucial stretch of the series.
Pacers Thrash Knicks, Tie Series 2-2
The Knicks had nothing in the tank and the newly-confident Pacers used their momentum to rip out the Knicks’ still-beating heart. It was absolute total domination for the Pacers in Indiana as they brought the hammer down on the Knicks in a Mother’s Day massacre. The game was never close as their offense exploded out the gate and had the Knicks reeling from beginning to end. They tied up the series 2-2, embarrassing the Knicks in a lopsided laugher, 121-89.
Knicks drop one late in Indy; Now Lead Series 2-1 | The Knick Wall
The Knicks fumbled a fourth-quarter lead in Indiana missing an opportunity to take a commanding series lead, leaving the door open for the Pacers. The New York Knicks (2-1) dropped Game 3 on the road to the Indiana Pacers (1-2) by a final score of 111-106. Despite some late game excitement, as always, and some real contributions from their bench, the Knicks had to watch as a desperation heave by Andrew Nembhard sealed their fate and their loss at the end of the contest.
