According to reporter Scott Gustin, the new NBA Experience at Disney Springs is permanently closed. Replacing the loved DisneyQuest in August of 2019, the NBA Experience had a rough time gaining traction in the short 7 months of opening. Disney brought in media teams to try and promote the grand opening, but the idea seemed to not grab the attention of the masses.

Inside this venue you were able to find areas inspired by modern-day NBA arenas, it included 13 unique experiences that gave you a wide variety of options to explore and test your skills. Guests were able embark on the full player journey, from training, competitions, championships and beyond.

Walt Disney World pandemic closures in March 2020 has put an end to a lot of the experiences we were once able to enjoy, but with hopes of reopening back to normal in the future. That's not the case for this facility.

Disney laid off their Cast Members last October until they could get their ducks in a row to finish off the closure. Disney still has a strong relationship with the NBA and plans to continue their partnership for future projects, but nothing has been determined what that may include.

For now, the venue is officially permanently closed. No replacement has been announced for its replacement. Maybe we'll get another experience that grabs people of all ages like DisneyQuest did. Who knows?
