What Can We Do about Traffic in Montgomery?
Traffic is one of the biggest local challenges we face. What happened and why did it get so bad?. In 1966, Montgomery had about 75 public roads and 6,000 residents. There were no subdivisions or suburban neighborhoods yet. The non-residential roads we use for commuting and errands haven’t changed much over the past six decades. Yet, we now have close to 24,000 residents and more 450 additional neighborhood roads. We have four times the residents, but the same number of primary roads. Not good.
Restoring Old Cars Is His Passion
For Vietnam veteran and Montgomery Township resident since 1995, Larry Szur, cars have always been a passion. Szur’s father was a mechanic, always owning fun cars, mainly Ford, Mercury, and Edsel convertibles. His father’s passion for tinkering was passed on to Szur, who enjoyed working on cars along with his father or friends since an early age. Szur continued in his father’s footsteps and worked as a diesel mechanic for the Department of Public Works in New Brunswick, from 1972 until his retirement in 2019.

My husband and I have raised our son here, and he’s gone through the school system too. Also, my husband drives a school bus in the township.
