New Sculptures at Monty High School Recall Pandemic Memories

Veteran Montgomery Detective Sues Township for Age Discrimination and Retaliation
Detective Christopher Bleistine, 51, of Lumberton is suing Montgomery Township, claiming he was not appointed as the police department's firearms instructor in 2021 and not promoted to sergeant the following year because of his age, and because he is a whistle-blower. An Air Quality Action Day has been declared for Montgomery Township today, Thursday, June 8, and for Friday, June 9 according to AirNow.gov. Many local outdoor activities have been canceled, postponed, or delayed while levels of fine particulates will remain in the unhealthy category statewide on Thursday and extend into the evening hours due to wildfire smoke transport from eastern Canadian wildfires. Somerset County employees who regularly work outdoors (recycling, public works, etc.) have been brought indoors to protect their health. County recycling will be delayed. Planning Board Approves a 91-Bed Assisted Living Facility in Skillman, Plans to Open in 2025
A new senior living community is coming to the Skillman section of Montgomery, despite the objection of neighbors. The Montgomery Township Planning Board gave final approval to the 91-unit development at its May 8 meeting. The Montgomery Farmers’ Market opens Saturday June 3. It will return to the center aisle of the Village Walk parking lot (on Route 206 near Mooyah) from 9 am until noon.
