Health officials are sounding the alarm after an illness, dubbed "the world's most infectious killer," continues to infect more people across the United States. BOONVILLE — The 136th Boonville-Oneida County Fair got underway Tuesday, July 23 and will run through Sunday, July 28. The gates open daily at 8 a.m. with the Coleman Bros. midway opening at 1 p.m. Wednesday, 3 p.m. Thursday, and 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are wristband ride specials each day. Pre-sale tickets for the wristbands can be purchased for $25 online at www.colemanbrosshows.com. The price for the wristbands at the fair will be $35.

On Monday, July 15, at about 11:15 am, Herkimer County requested Forest Ranger assistance for a hiker with an unstable ankle injury on Rondaxe Mountain. Seven Forest Rangers and an Assistant Forest Ranger responded with the Eagle Bay, Old Forge, and Webb Fire Departments.
