The Fed. govt. is only obligated to use money for Fed. owned dams NOT state. State owned are the STATES responsibility to pay for so complain to the states and counties for those not being updated. It's the Bureau of Reclamation who is in charge of fed dams and they actually have an ongoing program right now in which they keep getting fed. budget money for fixing/updating aging dams and has rated all of their dams with a priority for fixing them and such. For this guy to list a washoe Co. dam when it's a state dam, that the state is in charge of fixing but yet his articles point is that of fed money just shows how ignorant on the topic this writer is. They should learn to actually research things they plan to write about and publish opinion stories. Btw I work for BOR so I have a little inside knowledge on this topic in terms of the fed dams.
