Summer Heat Returns, Smoke Moves Out
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Things are pretty hot out there and we’ll have hotter temperatures coming in soon. Since things are dry and hot, we are under a Fire Weather Watch until tomorrow night. The watch includes many areas of Wyoming from central to eastern Wyoming and including the Nebraska panhandle. Be very careful with sources of ignition and with any burning out there as fire could be spread quickly. The air quality alert that we were under today has expired as the smoke is finally thinning and moving out of the area. A bit of smoke will stick around in a few areas but it’ll be much thinner and not nearly as prevalent.
Thief Caught Red-Handed After Trying to Outrun Wyoming Troopers
A woman is facing a felony theft charge after Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers reportedly caught her holding the keys to a stolen vehicle. According to a booking sheet, it all started at 1:34 p.m. on July 14, 2024, after a trooper was dispatched to a hazardous vehicle at milepost 4 on northbound Interstate 25, about three miles south of Cheyenne, and arrived to find an unoccupied vehicle parked along the west shoulder.
