Solitary bees are difficult to get rid of. The best strategy is to change the characteristics of the soil. They like sand. Topdress with leaf litter and overseed until they're reduced. If you grow a better lawn you'll have fewer issues with bees. Remember they're beneficial. Yellow jackets should be dusted. Simply apply insectide dust to their nest with a bellows. They'll try and clean up the nest and be killed.
