For the past three weeks, a seemingly perfect couple has kept the Netflix action comedy, “The Union,” at the top of the streaming chart of the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report . Alas, this week, the Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg union dissolved, sliding down the streaming chart to No. 10.

They are instead replaced with “The Perfect Couple,” quite literally. The limited series, based on the bestselling novel , was a huge hit as it was seen in 2.3 million households in just four days after it was added to Netflix on Sept. 5. Interestingly, the show, which stars Nicole Kidman as the matriarch of a powerful Nantucket family, proved popular among high-income households. Those with incomes greater than $200,000 over-indexed by 23% based on viewership compared with the national average, according to Samba TV data.

“Perfect Couple” is the first of seven Netflix titles on the most-watched streaming programs chart this week. It’s followed by the star-studded “The Deliverance.” The horror film features three Academy Award nominees and one winner, Mo’Nique. That level of prestige from its leads — and a viral performance from Glenn Close — helped the movie climb up three spots from last week’s chart.

“Rebel Ridge,” an action movie where a former marine tussles with corrupt small-town cops, is No. 3 this week. No. 4 is the true-crime docuseries “Worst Ex Ever,” down one spot from last week.

The 2007 action film “3:10 to Yuma” pulls in at No. 6 this week after being added to the Netflix library. The final Netflix entry this week is No. 7, “Kaos.” The original series is a dark comedy based on Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus. It was released on Aug. 29 and appears on the most-watched chart for the first time this week.

Moving on to the non-Netflix entries, Amazon Prime Video’s billion-dollar “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” moves up two spots to No. 5 place this week. Meanwhile, “The Fall Guy” comes in at No. 8. The action film was added to Peacock in late August and has been picking up buzz as a fun fall watch for those who missed it in theaters earlier this year.

No. 9 this week is the Hulu hit “Only Murders in the Building,” which made its return for Season 4. Audiences were eager to reunite with Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short as they made their way out west .

This week’s linear chart is all about endings and eager anticipation of new beginnings as scripted content creeps back onto the chart just as many of the summer competitions wrap up their seasons.

One series that concluded this past week was “The Bachelorette” Season 21, which comes in at No. 3. In a finale that has been described as “ heartbreaking ,” bachelorette Jenn Tran revealed live that she was no longer engaged, leaving audiences shocked.

Another summer favorite “America’s Got Talent,” takes the Top 2 spots as Season 19 moves closer to its Sept. 17 finale.

In the anticipation category, “Wheel of Fortune” snags three spots this week with the last of its summer reruns. New host Ryan Seacrest’s first episode was on Sept. 9 and will very likely be included on next week’s chart.

On the scripted side, CBS continues to find viewership with “Tulsa King,” a Paramount+ series the network has been airing on Sunday nights. It’s the sixth-most-watched program this week. CBS can also lay claim to the only other scripted show on the linear chart this week, “FBI,” at No. 10. Audiences seem to be settling back into their Tuesday night viewing routines as they wait for the popular drama to return for its seventh season on Oct. 15.

The Wrap Report provides an exclusive first look at the most watched movies and TV series from the past week across both streaming and linear television sourced from viewership trends collected from Samba TV’s panel of more than 3 million households, balanced to the U.S. Census.
