Crime Blotter: The Infamous 'Kia Boyz' Allegedly Execute a Crime Spree in South King County

    2024-03-31

In a recent series of crimes in south King County, a group known as the "Kia Boyz" has been causing chaos.

Renton Police Department officers managed to apprehend two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, but are still on the lookout for two other suspects, aged 14 and 15, who were involved in what authorities are calling a "crime spree" in the area.

    Initial Report

The incident was reported after two young boys, ages 8 and 10, made a distress call to 911, claiming they were threatened with a gun by a passenger in a red sedan in Renton. Later on, a resident reported a red Hyundai Sonata stolen, and the police were notified about a similar vehicle being driven recklessly along Lake Washington Blvd.

    High-Speed Chase

The King County Sheriff's Office Guardian One helicopter aided in locating the stolen car, which was followed by a high-speed chase from Renton to Westfield Southcenter. The teenagers crashed the car into a pole at Southcenter and fled the scene, leaving a trail of chaos behind them.

    Stolen Marijuana Products Uncovered

Authorities were able to apprehend two of the suspects and discovered a stash of stolen marijuana products in the vehicle, linking them to a recent robbery. Renton Police Chief Jon Schuldt emphasized the seriousness of juvenile crime, calling it an epidemic that needs immediate attention and solutions to prevent further incidents.

We need to try to get through to kids when they are younger. They obviously need better role models. Go back to " Career day at school" and bring Police Officers and Firefighters etc. to show what good they can do in our society.
